Oh, the water

The pictures on the top and bottom were taken on a deserted island in Antigua. The one in the middle was taken on St. John. Many years ago, when I was quite a bit younger, I spent a week on St. John and came away saying, "Aha! Now I understand why swimming pools are painted that color! They are imitating the color of the water in the Caribbean." Rediscovering the pure beauty of the water remains one of the best memories from our week. We went snorkeling in both Antigua and St John.

Still traveling

I should have put something in this summer about our trip to Acadia National Park in Maine, but somehow, the summer escaped me.
But I've just come back from a seven day cruise in the Caribbean, and I know I have to share some of my impressions (and my photos) with you. For seven days, I awoke to the gentle rocking of the ship (that held 3,000 people!) and 82 degree weather. The water was a magical blue teal color and so clear that snorkeling was absolutely delightful. The food was wonderful, and I came back smiling and very relaxed. To be continued.....
